With Utah, I'd think the mortgage crisis was probably a big factor. It swung Democratic nearly as hard as Nevada did, despite the fact that Obama did basically no campaigning there and hadn't visited the state since the primary.

In both Utah and Idaho, it seems to be that younger LDS tend to be slightly more liberal than their parents, and put off by the growth in power of Evangelicals (who don't like Mormons) in the Republican party.

I was quite surprised - it certainly wasn't in line with the polling there.

Then why wasn't there one in Idaho? Are they not racist there? Smiley



Well, clearly Wyoming's long history of racial tension demonstrates why it was the only state in the entire nation to show a Bradley Effect! Wink
