1.There is a large Mormon population in Wyoming

2.Once McCain started this 'socialist' crap it probably turned the western libertarian vote heavily against him

It still probably gave him a couple of points. Wyoming also doesn't have a large Hispanic population.

I've always thought it was interesting that those upper western states swung so hard in 2000. Dole only got 50% here in 1996, but Bush received 68% in 2000. And I really don't believe it's the Cheney factor since Montana, Idaho, Utah & the plains all did the same.
