if he adds AZ, GA, & NE the third being the most difficult all his states will connect.
if you add SC and look at NE as a bridge since it two colors all the red states and all the blue states connect

1.) both maps are utterly crazy and absurd
2.) why does he need South Carolina in the first map?

He doesn't need SC, but if he were to win then all the Republican states would connect also
You can say they are crazy and absurd... can you be specific as to why on the first map?
They aren't predictions so much as hypothetical 'what ifs'... 2012 is still a long way off.

To do so, he would have to either take Nebraska or crack the Mormon Belt, so no. The Mormon Belt is actually more likely, if Republicans nominate an openly Mormonphobic Evangelical.

Well, how do you color a state that is not one color or the other...Nebraska is not and in 08 was not a winner take all state

Why on Earth would he win Arizona and lose New Mexico?
not to mention Nebraska being a toss-up...
and Indiana staying democratic while North Carolina and Virginia shift back....extremely unlikely, I believe.

What about KS-MO? As likely as Nebraska I think though that's really not saying anything.

I think Texas-Arkansas-Missouri is more likely than using Nebraska or Kansas...

Actually: Correction, Obama's most likely way to connect would be to win ND, MN, AZ, and GA.

I color Omaha red and the rest of the state blue...so Obama has a foothold on the other side of the Missouri, and is nowhere near Colorado.

Nein. Idaho, Wyoming, most of Nebraska, and Kansas will remain Republican walls, barring a true landslide.
