Aye, though I would have proposed an amendment calling on the SoEA to work with other international organizations, including the EU and AU, on international recognition of Somaliland.

We should and do have a say in that. He was confirmed with our advice and consent.

Whether it's particularly reasonable to let that influence his vote on this bill is another matter entirely.

     We had a say in whether he was confirmed or not, but it isn't like he told us how he would act in regards to the recognition of Somaliland. Once we confirm the nominee, it is out of our hands & into those of the President & the nominee himself.
