Been hearing it around campus all day, and just found this blog post:

Essentially, reasons Cowen may be favored:

-personal friend of Joe Biden (Biden's daughter went here)
-He's sponsered some sort of big education initiative
-of course, the Katrina thing

Cool. I went to Tulane also, and he seemed like a good guy. Not that it really matters much, but Chuck Schumer's niece went there also. She was a pretty good friend of mine. Total trust fund hippie Tongue

BA spring '04 and MA summer '05. My master's graduation was supposed to be the day Katrina hit. Luckily, I hadn't planned on attending the second one, and had already moved back to Memphis. I had to host some friends for a couple of days though until they got their lives back together.
