It's a shame NC elected a nut like Perdue. McCrory would've been a great governor like he's been a great mayor for Charlotte.

It's a right-to-work state, like so many across the country.

I wouldn't call Perdue a nut. After going back and watching the debates McCrory came off as a rich snob who only cared about things that would better Charlotte. Also Charlotte isn't that much better off then it was before he became Major. Thats why McCrory lost alot of voter in the rural areas of NC.

I love rich snobs, being one myself. He did get killed in rural areas and failed to win Mecklenberg County. Every time I've heard Bev speak, she's sounded like a nut--this coming from a guy who has a favorable view of Mike Easely.

Every time I heard Bev speak she reminded me of an old teacher I use to have. I think Bev will do a good job, I thought Pat would have done a good job too.

He's a Bermudan White. He's as black as Colin Powell (in background, not in blood quantum - obviously Powell's less purebloodedly white in that respect).

McCrory would have easily won if it weren't for the Obama coattails in Mecklenberg county (and pretty much everywhere else).

I was surprised Dole lost in nc. Winning by 8 more than Obama was even more impressive. Those godless ads probably would have worked had

1.Kay Hagan had not been a sunday school teacher
2.She had not faked her voice

The deception in the ad made the moral argument come back at liddy.

Yes, he would've. Obama needed everything to go perfectly to win in NC, and it did. Otherwise, McCrory and McCain win, but Dole still loses.

No, I'm not saying McCrory wouldn't have won. I was saying he wouldn't have won easily. He would have won by the same margin that Bev won by.

That's still a majority of the vote, and thus an easy win.

I disagree, because Obama had MASSIVE coattails in Mecklenberg county, where he was mayor.  He would have likely won the county by 10 points or so if Obama wasn't in the running.  Also, check out western NC.  There is no way Perdue would have won those collection of counties by those margins, or even at all.

I still say a 5 point win for McCrory.

I was surprised Perdue did so well in Forsyth and Guilford Counties. Interestingly enough, McCrory ran ahead of McCain in Wake County. But Obama's coattails did hurt Pat in Charlotte. No other reason to explain him losing the county barely except for a lot of straight ticket voting.

I woudn't worry about NC as a conservative. Remember Clinton won GA and MT in 1992 and nothing came out of it.
