Why hasn't there been any talk of people like Chuck Grassley, Kit Bond, Arlen Specter, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, etc. for Obama's cabinet? If Obama could pick just two of them (or maybe even one, depending on how the MN recount goes), then the Democratic governors of those states would pick a Democratic senator to give the Democrats the 60-seat supermajority they need. Any thoughts on this?

They know the consequences that would occur if they are appointed in the Obama cabinet.  Unless they are given very high profile positions, it's hard for me to believe they would accept.

The thought has crossed my mind, though I never actually bothered to look up who specifically could be offered an appointment.
