The western states were created before any cultural regions developed. We have states that are ing SQUARES. The states NEED to be changed to fit the now developed regions.

Example, splitting the Northwest east-west makes MUCH more sense than the north-south split we have now (with Oregon and Washington).

California should be at least 2 states.

Wyoming shouldn't even exist. It has 500,000 people!!! There are at least 30 CITIES with that many people. Thats just ridiculous.

Well I would prefer making states so that they wouldn't give one party an advantage. FOR EXAMPLE, my WA-OR idea would probably create a Republican east, liberating it from the Democrat west. But splitting CA into 2 would counter that and make it like it was.

We did a thread in July on gerrymandering the whole 50 states (and DC). My version of the remap,
 including apportionment would take care of your issue in the Pacific NW.
