Everything is still a little cloudy but this is definitely just as much of an attack on the west as on India. The English cricket team was at the Taj just a week ago and the middlessex cricket team is just about the verge of leaving England to come play in Mumbai and they are also making their accomodations at the Taj. Don't know if this had anything to do with the attacks but that area around colaba is about to host a big international cricket tournament. There were shootings literally everywhere around the stadium......

Edit: As expected the cricket tournament has been cancelled. Congratulations terrorists. I would have hoped they had played in defiance of terrorists but I totally understand why this is being done.

I fear for all Muslims in India. I say at least a few thousand die.

Good news for the BJP here.

Ahh election season is just around the corner...looks like hindutva will be making yet another comeback. I really hope there aren't any riots....

That's what, about five terrorist attacks in India over the last year? How can anyone have faith in the government to actually act competently; especially when their own security forces sustain heavy casualties in firefights with militants?

I have never heard anyone utter the words "competent" and "indian government" in the same sentence before, so I seriously doubt Indian's confidence in their government has gone down. Another thing to realize is how vulnerable India is to terrorism from within it's own borders. As India becomes more and more developed, the more pissed of the people who get left behind become. And if these people are muslim or tribal, people who have never been fully integrated into Indian society, it becomes really easy to recruit them into terrorist groups. This particular attack is weird though. I doubt this is just pissed of Indian muslims. When they went into the hotels they asked for British and American passports, not hindus. It could also be hindu militants trying to stir things up just months before the election....

When are India's next elections?

This could spell the end of the Congress Party temporarily.

Apparently they are starting today!!! Yes the congress party is in huge trouble. They were already under pressure from their left wing for high food prices and now they are about to be hammered by this. I suspect third parties will do even better this election.

Seriously enough is enough. The world should come together to take Pakistan down. Why waste life, resources and money on Afganistan and Iraq, when Pakistan is the mother of terrorism. Pakistan an “ally” in fighting against terrorism, huh, that is their pretext. They get the money for fighting against terrorism, and use the money to create terrorism, against India, against Israel, and against USA and UK. Why - because of religion. The world needs to understand Pakistan is a wolf in sheep skin. We all are very sorry for those whose families whose near and dear ones has been killed, whether they are Indians or foreign tourists, after all each life is valuable and precious. But many more greifs are going to come if we dont solve the problem. And Pakistan is the problem. Wake up world. And act. Flying white pegions and lectures of peace is not going to solve the problem. Taking down the terrorists and the country that creates terrorists will.

I do think the ISI( Pakitan "intelligence" service) has a hand in this. This attack is way too organized. In addition they found a couple guys from Lashkar-E-Taeyba which is not surprising considering the tactics the terrorists employed is similar to ones used by terrorists in Kashmir. Now did Zardari know about this is the better question. Pakistan needs to handle its sh**t though. Way too many terrorists are attacking Afghanistan and India, and their base is Pakistan. If they can't deal with it, somebody needs to.

It depends on who you ask, how you ask them and where you ask them...but my Google Fu tells me that it's somewhere between 9 and 60% of Muslims condone terrorist attacks.

Wow what a range. It is quite obvious the number will be somewhere in between those.

My friend, how-so-ever we may try to writh away, one day some countries have to unite to take the islamic militancy down. And right now, a good place to start from is indeed Pakistan. They are indeed the one who recruit, train and deploy terrorists. Ever wondered how these young early 20 kids become so masterful terrorists knowing how to handel an AK47, and how to handle grenades. Give an ordinary man a grenade, and he will most probably kill himself with it trying to operate it.

The simple fact that these individuals are :
1. Masters in handling weapons like AK47 and grenades
2. Willing to die for their cause
3. Organised and planned in their atack
4. have enough ammo ( which doesnt come cheap if you are talking about AK47 in Indian region)

suggest that they are well trained and well motivated with sufficient sponsorship.

No internal domestic terrorist organisation in India has that much fund and sophistication. This is a handywork of Pakistan. And if civilized countries dont unite to face this challenge from islamic terrorism sponsored by Pakistan in the fear of a WW3, then these countries will be the one ill prepared when thousands of Bin Laden now getting trained are deployed the world over.

Look it is without a doubt clear these terrorists came from Pakistan, but be careful about blaming the government of Pakistan. I agree Pakistan is indeed the epicenter of terror, but I think we should try and work with their government. Remember the president of the country just had his wife killed by these terrorists months ago.

No, you can get them from Afghanistan or areas of Pakistan pretty easily, I believe.

The ethnicity of these terrorists could be Indian or Pakistani( like there is a difference), but they certainly got help from Pakistani/Afghanistani based terror groups. Those lawless areas of Pakistan are quickly becoming the base from which the crazies can attack the world.

This is really weird to me.

This isn't the MO of a AlQaeda-esque groups we're used to.

They're really acting like the terrorists that were more prevalent during the 70s.

This is Kashmiri tactics and some of the guys are in Lashkar-E-Taeyba( Kashmir terror group) so it makes sense. Al qaeda may or may not have helped them since their base of operations are just a few hundred miles away so it is possible. In any case their ideologies are basically the same... the targeting of westerners makes me wonder whether this is Al qaeda. Or this could just be an attempt at shutting down FDI and ing up India's economy.

http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Pak_TV_channel_says_2611_hatched_by_Hindu_Zionists/rssarticleshow/3785654.cms

Mumbai's 26/11 was actually a plan hatched by "Hindu Zionists" and "Western Zionists", including the Mossad, said a self-styled
Pakistan security expert on a Pakistan news television show, uploaded on www.hotklix.com.

" Inki shaklein Hinduonwali hain, jis zabaan mein guftagoo kar rahein hain, woh zabaan koi Pakistani istemaal nahin karta hai (They look like Hindus. No Pakistani speaks the language they chatted in)," said Zaid Hamid while referring to the terrorists on the show Mujhe Ikhtilaf Hai (I differ) on Pakistan's News One channel. The sensationalist channel was launched in November last year.

Hamid said that it was a "badly planned" operation that had gone horribly wrong. "9/11 jo Americans ne kiya tha usko bahut khoobsurat camouflage kiya tha. Unhone media mein perception management bahut acchha kiya . Indians ne wahi game repeat karne ki koshish ki, lekin akal to hai nahin . In ahmakon ne complete disaster kiya isko handle karne mein . (The Americans executed the 9/11 attack perfectly. They managed the media very well. The Indians tried to repeat the formula but goofed up. The idiots made a complete mess of it).

He said that the attackers wore saffron Hindu Zionist bands, which no Muslim would tie. Hamid also said that within the first 5 minutes of the attack, the three ATS policemen investigating the network of terror within India's security agencies and radical right were killed.

That ensured that those investigations reach a dead end. Anchor Qudsia Qadri added that with their killings, the investigations into the Samjhauta Express carnage would be halted. The killings also immediately shifted attention from India's domestic terrorists to Pakistan, said Hamid.

Marvi Memon, glamorous Pakistan Muslim League member, on the same programme, was appalled at the Pakistan government's expansion of the "India-appeasement package" by initially agreeing to send ISI chief to India. "I just don't get it," she exclaimed in exasperation.

She wondered how can you send the ISI chief to a " mulk jiske sath jang chal raha hai ...at a different level...," mentioning Kashmir and accusing India of blocking Pakistan's waters. Memon said, "They (Indians) are quite obsessed with anti-Pakistan speak and that unites them," she said. Memon also spoke about India's separatist movements and believed that India was only reaping the bitter harvest of the poisonous seeds it had sowed.

Blogger daily.pk writes in pakalert.wordpress.com, "India has been relapsing into religious extremism and numerous separatist movement have mushroomed due to official patronage ...I see the Mumbai bombings as the desperate move of separatists who want to blame everything on Muslims."

It's not only random voices railing against fingers pointing to Pakistan. Blogger and journalist Farrukh Khan Pitafi is miffed. "For years I have been advocating peace between India and Pakistan," he wrote. But he, too, says that India was out of its mind in naming Pakistan as the source of violence without identification of the perpetrators.

He wrote: "During such a long coverage of the mishap not a single outlet pointed out that Hemant Karkare... was the same man whose dismissal was Narendra Modi's biggest demand. Or that he was the man on the verge of uncovering the home-grown terror franchise of the Hindu extremists. No channel mentioned Colonel Purohit once during the live telecast, no not even CNN, BBC or CBS. It is sad."

HAHAHAHA Pakistan is getting pretty damn ridiculous. What the fukc is a "Hindu Zionist"? How the hell does that work out. Is it all the fault of India's miniscule Jewish population? ing idiots. Oh and I want to know how a "Hindu Zionist band" looks like. LOL
