Well perhaps I should just say "14-year old posters on this site". There was also DWTL back in the day.

Do my views seem overly contrived? That's too bad.

Don't you think EMD's views are great?

To some extent.

He's the exception, and he just recently grew out of that.

Because they are inclined to support utopian quick-fixes to the world's problems.  That's why so many young people to this day read The Communist Manifesto and say, "Yeah, that sounds about right."

Yes, I know Marx would be horrified to hear the Manifesto described as a utopian quick-fix, considering that over a quarter of it is devoted to bashing utopian quick-fixes, but the fact remains that that's what it is.

My views at 14 were vague and still largely apolitical.

Funny, I've become more of an extremist since I was 14. I can remember a few right wing views I had back then.

lol Yeah, pretty much.  They're probably first starting to pay attention to politics, but they are still overly hormonal and irrational.  They also think they're right all the time and are still easily swayed by others' opinions.

I couldn't get along with my younger brother until he was 15.  It was awful when he was 13 and 14.  He thought he was the coolest person ever.  Then, during the horribleness of sophomore year, he realized he wasn't everything he thought he was and grew up a little lol

Next year, I hope, the 14-year-olds on here will be more mature.

When I was 14, I was a right-populist whose views somehow combined the two most contradictory ideologies ever, fundamentalism & positivism.

I loved Harper and the Tories when I was 14. I also rooted for the ADQ. God, how things have changed.

lol That's funny.  There was a kid who went to my high school who called himself, I think, a populist-anarchist.  He eventually realized this made no sense and changed his views probably when he wasn't 14 anymore lol

They're still finding their way.

Me, I was a little anarchist punk (by attitude and some of the music I listened to, never by hairstyle and dress).

Because they are still on the road there to finding "it". I am still and I am of the ancient age of 20.

At 15, I'm pretty sure that my views are concrete at this point, but then again, I probably have always thought that.

At least they're interested.  All I cared about at that age was losing my virginity.  18 years later...
