...when you were born?

And please note that this is asking who the reigning champions were. Feel free to add the incoming champions, if you'd like.

NFL
MLB
NBA
NHL
FIFA World Cup
UEFA Euro Cup

For me...

NFL - Washington Redskins
MLB - Minnesota Twins
NBA - LA Lakers (won the title again shortly after my birth in 1988)
NHL - Edmonton Oilers (won the title again shortly after my birth in 1988)
FIFA World Cup - Argentina
UEFA Euro Cup - France (incoming champions - The Netherlands) - Horrible combination for me.

Sort of off-topic, but I attended a World Cup match in utero.

Don't you like all the French names on the Cameroon squad? Wink

I don't hate soccer, but my teams do disappoint on a continuous basis. Remember 2006? I thought it'd be better than 2002. Instead, the US didn't even make it to the knockout rounds. And Bangladesh, of course, will never qualify for a World Cup. I thought they had a chance to make it interesting after a 1-1 draw with Tajikistan on October 8 of last year (in front of a crowd of 700, about a hundred times smaller than what cricket matches get at the same venue), but they got crushed 5-0 in Dushanbe 20 days later.

NFL - Washington Redskins
MLB - St. Louis Cardinals (Baltimore won it a couple of weeks after I was born)
NBA - Philadelphia 76ers
NHL - New York Islanders
FIFA World Cup - Italia (forza azzurri!...i campioni del mondo!!!)
UEFA Euro Cup - West Germany (France won Euro '84 a few months later)

I only love all the French names on the French team. I hope for them to make the Final so that we can beat them.  Wink

I love my country but I'm so much of a soccer snob that I really don't care how the U.S. does in the World Cup. And, of course, Bangladesh doesn't even deserve to have a team as far as I'm concerned.

Bangladesh is probably better than Canada.

And I don't support Canada getting anywhere close to the World Cup either.  Smiley

France is my auxiliary team, when all my real teams are gone. But you knew that.

ELITIST

What are your thoughts on Mexico?

And, of course, Bangladesh doesn't even deserve to have a team as far as I'm concerned.

The AFC is a cold, hard place.

Bangladesh is probably better than Canada.

It isn't. Trust me. Bangladesh has even lost to Canada at cricket, a sport at which it's supposed to be one of the top ten teams in the world.

At least, Canada has a team in Quarter-Finals of North American Champions League.

A little off-topic, but I was found it interesting that most Americans root for other countries in the World Cup.  I'm Ukrainian, Bohemian, Belgian, and Irish.  So, including the U.S., I usually have a couple of teams to root for .

I root for America.  Then, once they're eliminated, I root for Italy.

I root for the United States unlike some traitors in this thread...

NFL: 49ers
NBA: Pistons
NHL: Flames
MLB: A's

I was in utero for all of them except for the Esiason vs. Montana Super Bowl (amazing game).

My friend, unless you were born between 1934 and 1942, that can't be true.  Tongue

I meant who were the reigning champions when you were born.
