Worth looking into is the Sewall / Watson business in 1896.  Bryan was nominated by both Populist and Democratic parties, but with two different VP's.  Watson got a fair chunk of EV's for VP, but I'm not sure how it was handled on a state-by-state basis.

What-if:  The Bryan/Hobart Administration?
