He was always an independent more moderate president and has disappointed progressives. But you can say that gets him more votes over Bush.

Yes, especially if Hilary is elected POTUS.

He brought the generational majority to the Dem party, that Dubya was seeking to bring to GOP party. But Sarah Palin tea party spoiled that.
