You have to remember this is a race between a moderate conservative and a far right conservative. There's no way Miller would win states like Ohio and Michigan in the current environment.

Miller isn't 'far right.' He's a mainstream conservative, who still has some mainstream Democratic views on a few issues like gay rights and social security. That said, I have revised the map.

As would I. Snowe is a centrist New England Republican who would draw in everyone from the left who would obviously oppose Zell as well as centrists, moderates, and even some regular old Republicans. Miller would really only pull in racists, homophobes, stupid Southern Democrats, and sexists.

Essentially the worst coalition ever to be built in politics, ever.

I think Snowe would win handily.  This is one situation where I would definitely vote for the Republican because Zell Miller is an idiot.  Olympia Snowe on the other hand is a moderate, and she would probably make a pretty good President.

Snowe is one of the few Republicans left who are responsible and reasonable, not an idealist by any stretch of the imagination. New England Republicans are far superior to regular Republicans.

I tend to agree. There used to be such a thing as a New England Conservative(like Calvin Coolidge) back in the day. Now the only conservatives in New England are transplants(Mitt Romney) or moderately conservative(John Sununu and Judd Gregg. Gregg more so then Sununu).

I would probably vote for Snowe cause I have a lot of respect for her despite differences on certain issues while President Zell would scare the hell out of me despite us agreeing on many issues.

I think Roy Barnes would be one to vote for if had he staid put in the governor's mansion and been able to run for a national office, had he plan to do had it not been for the Perdue debacle.
