I am fairly confident that a woman will sit in the Oval Office before we elect our 50th president or she will be the 50th president.

Just because Clinton came close this year doesn't mean the first female president has to be a Democrats. 

If Kay Bailey Hutchinson becomes the governor of Texas in 2010 (which seems highly likely) I think she'll be a top candidate for the GOP in 2016 assuming they lose in 2012.

I like Hutchison, but she'll be 73 in 2016.

Oh, I didn't realize that.  That could certainly hold her back.  Then again, McCain is 72 and women generally live longer than men.
