On another note, its going to get really busy around here... I could use some moderation help from some of the fair, moderate, analytical members.

Dave

Sure, I'll volunteer.

Also Dave, can you kick up max_connections in server.xml?.  I assume you are on some variation of Tomcat/Apache..?

Also, should we have a little "fundrasier" here at Atlas to buy you some more Bandwidth and/or server capacity for peak season..?

I'd be happy to toss a few coins into the jar Smiley

Perhaps.

Dave has a real oasis of (comparative) sanity in this forum.

Most are pretty partisan, but hey, it's an election.  Don't think anybody have every called me much of anything bad in this place.

Best way to deal with trolls is just leave all their threads totally blank.

You make it difficult for even the trolls to call you names.

I'd offer, but apparently, I'm an easy target as VeitnamVet/Nomo/Spinning Crackpots/who-ever-else-that-individual-is-registered-as has shown.

Somebody called me a Democrat once, which I didn't much like.. and another time somebody called me a Republican which hurt a bit.. Sad

Thanks for your kind words Smiley

As for this forum, it is very well behaved, as far as internet forums go.

That is so true; however, with all of the new people joining, it could turn sour.

If this race tightens up in late October, this Forum is going to get nasty!  Smiley

lol, I don't know what would be better to watch, the crazy conservatives fighting the lunatic leftists on the board, or watching the real election...Then again, I do have a TV next to me..

Although I discourage accusations, I believe that in this case, Tredrick, Light Touch and Philip are correct.  VietnamVeteran and nomorelies share the identical ip address.

Please try to reign-in emotions - especially as the election draws closer...

Very good advice.

BTW, I want to thank you for the extensive work you have done to keep this site up.

This is my favorite part:

I'd be happy to help out, but I'm pretty new around here.  I'm certainly a long way from the 1,500 posts that some of these political junkies have wrapped up! Smiley

From newb to highly respected forum member.  My how time goes by.

Ironically, this happened the day before I registered.  Just in case you're thinking it, I'm not VietnamNomoreVeteranLies.

Arguably, I'm far worse.  ;-)

The funniest part was that Dave was able to easily discover that it was the same person.  Did he not think that he would be found out?
