I tried to keep options as limited as possible.

North Korea. After all, it is pretty much a real life 1984. All they need to do is change their name to Eastasia.

They are all pretty terrible. As I sort of noted before, the answer should really be different for different people though. It really depends on where you land on the ladder of life and that also depends on your gender, race, religious beliefs (or lack thereof), etc.

As to oppressing its people and threatening the world, North Korea.

As it relates to being a miserable place to live, Somalia.

Though they all fit in the rogue's gallery of nations.

I'll be different and go with Somalia. At least the North Korean government provides schools.

Schools where they teach you that Kim Jong-Il does not produce feces or urine like a regular human and that his birth lead to a spontaneous rainbow breakout. Educational!

Well Jeeze, Xpost.  Everyone knows the rainbow thing is a load of crap.  But I thought the whole excrement production issue had been confirmed by Snopes...

It really depends who you are.  Parts of Sudan would really suck.

In every other country listed the citizens have (at least theoretically) the choice of leaving and pursuing a better future.

In North Korea they don't have even that.

That's why I voted them.  Others are nearly as bad though.

Somalia is hardly a country, and it has Somaliland, which is a country, so it's not the worst.

I'd say Sudan is.  At least in North Korea I don't think you can get raped for walking miles to get water for you and your family.
