The test- http://www.politicalcompass.org/test
The candidates- http://www.politicalcompass.org/uselection2008
The states- http://www.politicalcompass.org/usstates?ak=on&az=on&il=on&ny=on

How accurate do you think this is? How do you compare on the charts?

I am three squares bellow Cynthia McKinney. I think that Vermont is the closest state to me but still is far away.

As for EU governments I am nearest to Sweden. For UK parties I am closest to the Green but I support the Liberal Democrats.

Hilariously wrong.

I mean for starters, Gravel on the far right?

Wyoming is the most socially predatory state in the Union, per the senators. Almost as socially predatory as Hitler, in fact. The WY delegation is 8+, Hitler is like +9 or +10. ...and Colorado is one of the most socially inclusive states per their senate delegation.

....so, in a way, Obama is a libertarian on the global stage, while Palin was more of a fascist.

It gave me a -.25, -1.90.  I don't like their system.

However, I do agree about Gravel.  The man was calling for a national sales tax!  That's pretty far right, if you ask me.

Virtually everything else in his platform was fringe left though.

PS:  I have never seen a quiz where I had to vote "Strongly Negative" on every question on a page. (The Social Issues page)

Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: 3.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.79

The leftist bias in this test was at times cringe worthy.

I'm closer to Nader which is not surprising because I voted for him.
