This is old news...
i always thought that the republican base would support whoever the party nominated, simply because the alternative (a democratic administration) scares them even more.  That's why McCain should have picked a moderate as his VP or why nominating someone like Snowe or Collins wouldn't be such a terrible idea.

Apparently McCain didn't come up with a gung-ho individualist sound-bite fast enough.  That seems to be this guy's main criteria for, like, anything.

I liked John McCain, biggest mistake he made was Palin because it lost him a lot of votes. Put Palin at the top of the ticket, if Obama continues governing as he is now, 50 state Obama re-election landslide

Why is it always the people with really long German last names that tend to be the crazy fundie conservatives?

It's the same here in Minnesota.  The Bromenschenkels and Efferschnechtels and Hoobenyanglers are much more likely to be Republicans than the Schmidts or Bachs.

It's honestly a shame Germany, the british isles and Scandanavia all didn't follow france's early lead in slowing birthrates back in the 19th century.

Germany has had a relatively low birthrate since the turn of the century.  The max number of births actually occurred around 1910 and only surpassed that for a small amount of time during the 1960s.  Otherwise, without immigration, Germany has been steady or shrinking since the '70s.

France, on the other hand, has had higher birthrates and is expected to grow quite a bit.

The poor sap thinks he's actually important.  Someone needs to tell him he was the political flavor of the week and no one cares anymore.

Is he still being drafted to run against Marcy Kaptur?

He seems interested, and I think he'll almost certainly make a run.

Personal prediction, and I make very few: Joe the Plumber vs. Kaptur would be an easy, easy win for Marcy. She's very well liked.

Indeed. He could probably make good money off of the campaign, too.
