We have 13 days left in 2008, so its time to start thinking about our plans to ring in 2009.

I'm going to ring in 2009 just sitting in my warm apartment watching Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve 2009 with Ryan Seacrest on ABC.  At 11:57 local time I will turn over to our NBC station and watch the Oklahoma City Ball Rise to ring in 2009 in Oklahoma City.

What are your plans this year?

Not sure yet. I'll either be at some kind of party, home with my family or (uggh) working.

Friend's house. We'll probably be playing Monopoly.

"Private party", I guess. With my parents and my aunt in Montreal. Likely watching the 2008 RBO Bye-bye show.

Private party, now that I'm single. Hoping there be women there.

Not sure yet, had a few offers. This is what I'd be doing if I was staying in Melbourne:

This one looks the most interesting (invite from my sister):

http://www.queenslandholidays.com.au/destinations/western-downs/things-to-see-and-do/nindigully-pub-9003670/index.cfm

It's a genuine outback pub, about six hours' drive west of Brisbane. Lunar would have fun doing a google image search of "Nindigully Pub" - or you might want to google map it to see just how remote it is.

I've been heading out to the movies on New Years recently.  I got to the late showing (like always) so the theatre is fairly empty.  That gives me a chance to wish the police on duty at the theatres a happy and safe New Years, which I feel is important, especially when you consider how dreadful a night it is for our men and women in blue out there on New Years Eve.

Most likely at a friend's house (private party), but there's a slight chance I'll be spending it with family in Wisconsin (ugh - little kids).
