For the non-Murricans among the forum community, firstly, I pity you.  Here's a miniature flag for you to covet with your green eyes:

But my point is this.  Have you been to the US before?  If so, where?  When?  How often?  Who?  Which?  Is?

I expect nothing less than the Truth.

I have never been to the States. I would like to go (and may try to get to NY later in the year), but there are places in Europe I've not yet been to that I'd choose to visit over America.

Nope. But I'm taking a couple of weeks off shortly and am considering a trip over there, amongst other possibilities.

Nah, never been outside of Western Europe either. Tongue

The cities that I would like to see the most there would be, by priorities:

LA
New York
Las Vegas
Boston
Chicago
And a city in the Bible belt, Oklahoma city why not.

Well, along with other ones, a complete road trip throughout the country would be fine.

But, not sure I'll actually try it one day, not for money reasons, if I really wanted to I'll do something to earn more money and I'll save it, but dunno, by now I haven't the feeling I would one day actually go there, we'll see...

One of the top country to visit in my list anyways.

Twice. Both times for just over a week. Once in October 2001 (note the time) we (that is, me and my family) stayed with friends of my parents in Boston and in Connecticut. We went to New York City for a day, but of course, nearly everything 'touristy' was closed.

Again in 2008 I went for a week to Penn State, Pennsylvania. My Grandfather was receiving an award at a conference there I was invited to come along for the lulz. Went travelling around Pennsylvania for the most part. Never been outside the North East.

No, I'm a southern hemispherian. Winter in January would just be wrong. I suppose Hawai'i could be OK though, seeing as its below the Tropic of Cancer.

Yes, of course. Though more often with the past. I went to Ogunquit, Maine two years in a row, and I also went to NYC and parts of New Jersey, Washington DC + NoVA + areas in Maryland.

I technically went to the US last summer when the Thousand Islands cruise stopped in American territory for an hour.

Yes but LA precisely because it is more than California, just because LA. I tend to find San Francisco too European, and I'm not really attracted by it, though San Diego, yes, why not, for its proximity with Mexico, and the presence of enough important naval base it seems too.

Real California, Sacramento?

The town is called "State College" and it is only an hour away from where I grew up.

Well, Sacramento is part of real California, but the metropolis of real California is San Francisco.
