The difference is that Barrasso is a for-pretend social conservative; in 1996 he ran as a pro-choice candidate.

As far as prefering Sen Cantwell to Sen Murray, Sen Murray has flipped flopped on a lot of issues such as pay raises for Senators and voting for funding the troops in Iraq besides that she is more liberal than Cantwell.
