The actual primary will take place on June 9, 2009.

In the meantime, just to help those of us trying to decide between the three, here are their campaign websites:

Creigh Deeds

Brian Moran

Terry McAuliffe

I'd vote on primary day for whoever has the better chance of beating McAuliffe.

It's stupid to be against McAuliffe just because he was for Clinton.

1- Strong fundraiser. That's important.
2- Proven business acumen.
3- Energetic personality.
4- Tested in the media.

What are the differences between Moran and Deeds?

Deeds is the more conservative of the two, most notably on gun control.

How come we talk so much about Virginia Politicians? Mark Warner, Tim Kaine, George Allen, Jim Webb? Coming from a Virginia Politician supporter, Why is that?

Because Virginians are automatically more awesome than politicians from other states Grin

I would be torn between Deeds and Moran, with a slight lean towards Deeds.  Anybody but McAuliffe.  He was a fine DNC Chairman, but I couldn't stand the way he thought Hillary would win even when it was clear, and even official IIRC, that Obama had the delegates necessary to become the nominee.

WTF? Someone clearly hasn't been watching the YouTube compilations of him of his interviews.

Which compilations? I've seen many clips of his cable appearances on YouTube and he has always come off as energetic and charming. IMO he was Clinton's best surrogate.

Thank you for admitting that he was a fine DNC chairman, BushOklahoma, but his shilling for Clinton in the primary was only because he was on her payroll and he was ordered to put out the campaign's message. As it turned out, he correctly predicted every primary after March 1, including South Dakota which many here (including myself) missed. In Indiana he was a little bit hesitant and this was reflected in the closeness of the final outcome.

what is so bad about McAuliffe? I don't support him, but don't know much about him besides that he was DNC Chairman and a Hillary ClintonITE.

McAuliffe is fine on TV.  He only comes across as scary when it's evident he's full of it, at which point his campaign would probably be over anyway.
