I would like to have two Consuls elected by the Senate, with both being members of the Senate. They would share executive power. I'm not entirely sure which would get what powers, though.     Tongue

I'd say one with domestic powers, one military.

I like that idea. Smiley Also, I think their decisions can be overruled by the Senate with a two-thirds, or something, majority.

Well, given the time period, I wouldn't have a problem with that.

I'm posting the mini-bio so we can get into the spirit with Roman names and the like.

Well, wait, you can only have one name because dispite representing both territories, we each only get one vote, or that would totally screw the balance up.

Belgica - Big Bad Fab
Gallia - Hashemite
Narbonensis - Dr. Cynic
Hispania - Sewer Socialist
Lusitania - Hashemite
Italia Inferior - Vepres
Italia Superior - Dr. Cynic
Dalmatia - Sewer Socialist
Achaea - Barnes
Asia - Xahar
Pontus - NiK
Syria - NiK
Cyrenacia - Afleitch
Africa - Happy Warrior

Sorry to put a little mess, but that would be more logical if everyone has 2 provinces.

I suggest to add, by splitting and slightly expanding borders:

Alpes - Big Bad Fab (by taking small chunks of Helvetic Gallia and of outside Raetia)
Pannonia Superior - Vepres (that lets Pannonia Inferior and Noricum for future conquest)
Macedonia - Barnes (by splitting Achaea and taking a small chunk of Thracia)
Lycia et Pamphylia - Xahar (by taking a small chunk of southern Cappadocia and of western Syria)
Baetica - Happy Warrior (by splitting the south of Lusitania)
Mauritania Caesariensis (or Numidia) - Afleitch (by taking eastern Mauritania and a small chunk of western Africa, which lets western Mauritania free for future conquest)

I don't know how to redraw Afleitch's map, but maybe he can do it ? Wink

And yes it's better to be in mid 44 BC.

I am
JULIUS SEPTIMUS GALBA
Representing BELGICA and ALPES

On Afleitch's original map I'd be happy to play the Egyptian client king Wink

Me. Hang on i'll think of one.

EDIT:

Titus Appolonius Galeo (known as Titus Appolonius)
Age: 29
Birthplace: Crete
Senator for: Creta et Cyrenacia

Titus' rise to the Senate has been very recent. The favoured grandson of Helios Appolonius, he was elevated to the Senate on his grandfathers death. Born in Crete like all his family he claims descent from an encounter between the god Apollo and a 'North Briton' mother whom Apollo brought to Rome. Just as fantastic as that claim, Titus fully intends to govern the whole of the province rather than concentrate solely on Crete as his grandfather did. This may put him in direct conflict with neighbouring Egypt. However like his family before him he may be able to retreat from conflict given Crete's relative isolation.

Should I maybe resign my place as a Senator so I can take over as king of Egypt?

No, I don't think that would be necessary. You could certainly "speak for" the King, but I'd like to keep you in the Senate.

Besides, Rome will probably 'consume' Egypt shortly anyway Wink

Once everyone has picked their name, we can go ahead and pick either two consuls or an Emperor...

I'd like to call for consulships rather than imperial powers.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

Those that haven't selected a Roman name, just put it in your next post.

Let's now open nominations for the two consul positions. Be sure to state if you accept and win said nomination whether you'd prefer to work as domestic of foreign policy consul.

Any nominations for domestic consul?

While a return to democratic normality is somewhat refreshing, would the Senate not agree that we perhaps lack a robust titular leadership?
