What do you guys listen to for christmas music?

Christmas With Weezer is really good. I also have around 12 scattered christmas songs for listening, when my parent's christmas music annoys me.

I listen to Bob Rivers' parodies, whatever is on the radio, and my favorite is Bruce Springsteen's Santa Claus is Coming to Town.

Usually either an old traditional gospel singer, Cristy Lane, or the Croonies such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Dean Martin, etc.

Youtube has a great collection of (Washington's own) Placido Domingo.  I'm listening to his "Christmas in Vienna" numbers right now.  I just listened to a really great "Silent Night" where he and two other singers individually sung Silent Night in German, French, and Spanish, and then sung it in all three languages together.

Christmas at the White House (1972) record only (no CDs at this time) Burl Ives.

My favorite:  We Three Kings/Quest of the Magi

Lyrics
We three kings of Orient are
Bearing gifts we traverse afar.
Field and fountain, moor and mountain,
Following yonder star.
REFRAIN

O star of wonder, star of night,
Star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding,
Guide us to thy perfect Light.
Born a king on Bethlehem's plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King forever, ceasing never
Over us all to reign.
REFRAIN

Frankincense to offer have I.
Incense owns a Deity nigh.
Prayer and praising, all men raising,
Worship Him, God most high.
REFRAIN

Myrrh is mine: Its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom.
Sorrowing, sighing, bleeding dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.
REFRAIN

Glorious now behold Him arise,
King and God and Sacrifice.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Earth to the heaven replies.
REFRAIN

97.1 WASH FM . . . 24/7 Christmas music.  It starts Thanksgiving week and runs through the end of the year.

That always annoys me.  I think it starts too early.

Well, I just finished my traditional X-mas viewing of S1E10 of "The West Wing", in which "Little Drummer Boy" is featured prominently. So that.

I love it. They sang it at mass tonight even though it's technically a song for the Epiphany.

Since Baptists don't celebrate Epiphany, its still a good Christmas Carol.  For me, January 6, 2009 is a day to go to work, make money, and watch the GMAC Bowl.

I don't listen to it on purpose.  I hear it enough just existing this time of year.

Ha, then you would hate to be around me, lol!!  I start listening to Christmas Music in preparation for the upcoming Holiday Season sometimes in April or May, and in earnest starting July 5.
