I strongly doubt that there is any substantive difference.

No, I'd bet Deeds is more conservative.

No, I'd bet Deeds is more conservative.

Only if you actually care about gun control.

From what I can know about Deeds, he's rather "SOUTHRON MODERATE!"... while McAuliffe is all DLC... I guess it all depends on whether you care about gays and guns or business-friendliness.

Hard to say. McAuliffe probably doesn't have any ideology, which in theory is a good thing but really means he'd just be corrupt and useless as Governor, beholden to his donors. Nor is Deeds the social conservative/economic leftist that his region would suggest.

Moran is clearly the most liberal and possibly the most leftist candidate, however.

Certainly the most right-wing economically.

Deeds is tight with NARAL. He's not some Southern populist type.

He's also tight with the NRA... I'm not saying he's hard right socially... but he does have a tint of populism.

Thought he was a pro-life Democrat? I don't really care either way, I'm just curious.

Deeds is a pretty solid Democrat except he's extremely anti-gun control and pro-"law and order". Why? This is what his Senate district looks like (Deeds is from Bath County):
