I could, people have said I present convincing arguments and I have a strong interest in the country and how it works.  I'd do it if my hockey career doesn't work out.

Well, I am too liberal to win nationally, but maybe I could win statewide.  I would never be nominated though, being that I never held a steady job, have a shaky police record (bar fights), and never attended college.

Yes I could see myself as a congressman or a governor of Michigan. I think I could get elected.

Kinda makes you think, when people say "I wanna be governor or president" as little kids, even jokes cause its so cute or whatever.  I always thought if I really wanted to be somehting like that its far from impossible.  If I don't become a pro hockey player, I'm setting myself up to hold some state or national position someday.

We had a thread for this...I wouldn't b/c political careers are so boring in Sweden, and I don't sympathize with the only party that holds public offices here. Sad

I could see myself as a county Sherrif in some rural place.  County 'commissioners' also have a pretty sweet deal.

That reassures me. It would be frightening to see intelligent and  unscrupulous neoconservative like you in the White House!

I couldn't see myself as President, but I think I could be a decent governor. I could certainly get elected in a place like Nebraska or North Dakota. I don't know if I could take Florida or not.

I would like to be President, but I know they wouldn't elect me. My views are to "radical" by modern terms. I am more lost in history as some have said. I would prefer to go back to a govt as the Founders intended. In that sense one of the first things I would do is immediately break up the IRS. I feel they are unconstitutional as is the 16th Amendment as it was not ratified by the correct number of states. Yes it was 3/4 but their have been disputes about the way some of the states voted.  That issue alone would keep me from being elected.

Ive heard lots about the 16th amendment not being properly ratified but exacatly how was it not.

From what I've read certain states retracted the ratification because in the 1870s a Income tax was ruled Unconstitutional. And they looked back on this ruling and chose to retract the ratification of the 16th. I believe it was Kentucky or Tenn. Some states it is said were coerced into voting on it. Some did not have the proper amount of people present at the state legislative meetings. If anyone else can go more in-depth about it I would appreciate it.

By the way I stand by the idea of a National Sales tax, say 5% to 6%. I think that would be fair for everyone, and no one could complain about class warfare.

I will take a high office someday, or at least be a political strategist.

I see myself being like the Howard Dean of 35 years from now. I will be extremely anti-religious and anti-industrial. I will be extremely frank, but will use obscure political references like Dean's criticisms of Warren Harding.

I'm sorry to say Zach, but if you're extremely anti-religious, you won't win.

You're far from being as conservative as Reagan. Which is a good thing, imo. You appear to be a thinking person, and that's very rare.

Hey, while I may not be as conservative as Reagan, he is still my favorite president.  If I ever became president, I should hope to be half the president Reagan was.
