Williams is gone no matter what in 2010. If the Republicans get one more member then Mumpower is in charge, and if the Democrats get one more then they'll kick Williams to the curb and elect Naifeh or Odom.

And even if the margin does stay *exactly* the same then there's always the likely possibility of Williams losing re-nomination or the Republicans cutting a deal with some conservative Democrat in the intervening two years.
