Your choice? I am divided between Poizner, Fiorina and Whitman.

Tom Campbell is the most libertarian of the bunch, followed, I believe, by Poizner

My first choice is Whitman.  If not her, Poizner it is.

I'm giving Poizner the edge over Campbell because he's got the executive experience... well, sort of.

I am supporting Whitman cause this state needs to learn fiscal responsibility and I think she is the best to bring it to the masses. Poinzer would also be fine for me but has to come in second for me.

Campbell is very articulate, well spoken and would be the nice public face of the GOP for the California .  Don't know who I'll end up voting for though.

Poizner, as he has proven he can actually win a statewide office.

Poizner, since he's been tested electorally statewide. As far as I know, Campbell & Whitman haven't.

I would support him in the general, but he seems a bit too Schwarzenegger-like for my tastes.

I don't know much about California politics, and thus don't know a whole lot about any of these candidates, but I would probably choose Bill Simon.  He's probably a has-been since he ran unsuccessfully in 2002, but he wouldn't be too bad.  I want someone who is socially moderate-conservative and fiscally moderate.

Indeed. While Campbell might be more libertarian, I'd rather have Poizner win than have Campbell get beaten by Villaraigosa.

Well, I'm afraid he'll manage the Californian economy like Schwarzenegger has -- in other words, not so good.

Meg Whitman is a stupid cow, Carly Fiorina is a typical woman business leader who has caused a company to go bankrupt.  Someone else, please.  How about Tom McClintock?

Oh God no.  He almost lost a congressional district with an R+11 PVI, and you want him to run for statewide office?

Face it, he runs campaigns almost as badly as Alan Keyes.

He's only lost four statewide races already!

Tying in a heavily Republican district is almost as bad as losing statewide races in a heavily Democratic state.

Also, look at his percentages in the 2003 gubernatorial race.  They are embarrassing.

Will he be a "stronger advocate for gay rights" (Romney 1994) than Gavin Newsom too?

He never said he was a stronger advocate than Newsom, just Kennedy, no?

By the way, Romney 2010 won't happen.  I looked into it, and it got a lot of buzz before Whitman ran, but Whitman is hiring a lot of ex-Romney people (and Whitman was a chief part of Romney's campaign).  I think it's too obvious that Romney would be carpetbagging and will need more time to create a bipartisan image for himself to win in California.  The Romney family already owns horses in California and wanted to spend more time with them.

Maybe later in life, in 2014, he can run against whichever Democrat beats Whitman
