I will make a decision at 10, so this is a quickie poll.

http://wonkette.com/405438/come-to-wonkettes-patriotic-inaugural-ball-this-friday

The pros are that I've enjoyed Wonkette's commentary for over three years now, and they seem like a wild bunch of people to party with.

The cons are that the party site is five blocks from Union Station and it's barely in the double digits and I don't want to walk five blocks in that weather.  I also don't know anyone there.  I don't actually post on the website.   And it's very, very cold.

You actually strike me as the Wonkette type.  Do you read it?

No, but I've heard it's good. I've seen a few entries and what I've read amuses me.

Yes! I'd totally go, but 1) I'd freeze to death getting there and 2) It might be kind of awkward if I try to drink their alcohol (since I'm not exactly "legal").

Just got back:

1.  Whoever is behind the "there's no such thing as clean coal" campaign is putting a goddamn fortune into Metro advertising.

2.  I've been trying to ignore the implications of the "HOPE" ads that have Pepsi's logo instead of the O.  Every "cool" instinct in my body shouts that that sign symbolizes that it's time to jump off the Obama wagon.  However, I was never for Obama due to his iconic status, and I will be happy to support him even after his people are seen as tools.

3.  Apparently, every under-30 in DC reads Wonkette.

4.  Yoga places make good party locations.

5.  The beer tasted like Bud.  I hope for Wonkette's reputation that after all the bashing of domestic beer they've done over the years that they didn't put in a domestic for their party.

6.  It wasn't my sort of thing.

7.  Somehow, 10 degree weather is all right until you're within eyesight of where  you're going, and then it becomes impossible to go.

8.  While I didn't have a great time, it was well worth the 5 dollar cover charge.
