About 59%, but regardless, to address the major point: people have shown themselves highly capable of voting against gay marriage and supporting Democratic candidates who favor (or oppose, or hedge on) gay marriage at the same time. This is not a wedge issue that's going to move voters to the Republicans when the economic issues still loom large. It's absolutely not a deciding issue for African American voters.

I don't get how I'm the Palin type since Palin doesn't have the problem of being labeled as an elitist by some. I don't remember her being accused of being a UN apologist, European loving, academia sympathizer.
