It was many years ago in sandy California.
One dark evening, Joe was walking when he recognized his friend Tim digging in the sand.
“Why are you digging in the sand?” – asked Joe.
“I have mistakenly dropped a very valuable golden coin into the sand” – answered Tim.
“Where exactly did you drop it?”
“There, behind the hill”.
“So, why are you digging here?”
“It’s very dark there, while here it is lightened by the street lamp” – Tim explained.

Shrug, it's a better analogy to say that there is a silver coin under the street lamp and a golden one somewhere out in the dark.

and what about the following variation:

“It’s very dry there, while here there is a lot of oil” – Tim explained.

I don't really like the new gold goins, they tarnish very easily.
