Shortly after Hurricane Katrina, Rangel was quoted as saying "Mississippi gets more than their fair share back in federal money, but who the hell wants to live in Mississippi?"

Sounds like a legit question to me.

There are too much to choose from here.   A better question would be "who are the good representatives?"
I don't know. Which ones bring in pork for new york?

an area populated mostly by Rangel's race, and not affected by Katrina.

And even if he was, it is completely unacceptable for a Congressman to insult another state like that.  It's (correctly) not ok for people to insult other races, genders, orientations, etc., but it is completely acceptable in most people's eyes to put down Southerners as stupid/ignorant/etc. and that really pisses me off.

A tie between Musgrave and Tancredo.

Marylin Musgrave, Robin Hayes, Mark Kirk, Jon Porter, Tim Walberg, Joe Knollenberg, Chris Shays, Don Young, Jean Schmidt, Bill Jefferson, and James Moran.

That's my short list.

Odd list. Why do you dislike Kirk so much?  And Hayes, Porter or Knollenberg (nice old man the latter), are hardly hot button items. And Chris Shays? Is the problem that you don't like Pubbies filling "Democrat" seats?

I thought you'd notice that. Tongue I support the Tom DeLay approach to Congressional politics. If one party can eliminate the other party's moderates, the former party will be the default party for those in the middle. That's why DeLay was so intent on exterminating (get it?) WD-40s (White Democrats over 40). The only one he missed was Chet Edwards.

Mark Kirk is politically dangerous to my party. He's a well-educated moderate from the affluent Illinois suburbs. He could someday run for the Senate or join a future Republican President's cabinet. Savvy pols like him become entrenched over time and are very difficult to defeat. If Seals can't win with Obama at the top of the ticket, we may never knock off Kirk.

Grove Norquist once said that if the unions and the trial lawyers are vanquished, the Democrats will  be a balkanized party. "They could be the Weird Sex Party; they could be the Tree Hugger Party; they could be the Peace Party," said Norquist. By geographically and ideoglogically isolating the GOP, the same may happen to your Grand Old Party.

Jean Schmidt, Tancredo, Musgrave, Kucinich (While I agree with his a good number of his ideas he just seems to want attention all the time like an out of control two-year-old).

I would probably just list the entire current Massachusetts Congressional Delegation.

Certain names: Nancy Pelosi, Jim McGovern, Barney Frank, John Olver, Dennis Kucinich, Tom Tancredo, Don Young, John Murtha, John Coyners, Pete Stark, Marilyn Musgrave

...Who, of course, is no longer a Representative. Come on, Stark, there are plenty other Jewish Representatives for you to hate.

Anyway, worst of the freshman! I vote for Jason Chaffetz, although it is pretty cool that he sleeps in his office. No big fan of Bobby Bright, either. Otherwise they all seem relatively decent, at least so far.

I'd say about 65% of representatives are serious contenders for this dishonor. If I had to go with just one, I would say William Jefferson, since no amount of corruption will ever make his constituents vote for anyone else (it's Louisiana after all). This alone makes him probably the most dangerous of the lot.

lol

To not make this a completely worthless post, my vote goes for Tom Tancredo.
