That looks like the current possibility.

I wouldn't mind beating Sununu again. This time with a better candidate.

it wont be easy.
you wont have a republican president president with a 27% rating holding sununu down.

I think Hodes will likely win this seat no matter who runs for the Republicans. I have no idea if Sununu will run again.

On the GOP side, for 2016, look out for Gov. Phill Kline (KS), Gov. Ralph Reed (GA), Gov. JD Hayworth (AZ), Sen. David Vitter (LA), among others.

I'd like to see Sununu run again. It isnt like there are a lot of other attractive alternatives for us right now in NH. I think he would be the best candidate, win or lose.

Just giving my modest opinion, I'm not being a jackass about it. Whoever wins the Democratic primary will probably be a slight favorite.

Sununu isn't even "likely" at this point to run - he's given no indications that he will. He moved down to D.C. with his family after he lost his last election and he might have settled down already.
Sununu is just the name at the top of everyone's lists. But the topic post is like assuming Kansas will be Moran/Tiarht vs. Sebelius - we know who everyone is talking about but we don't know if they'll run

The built-in Democratic advantage in New Hampshire is not the President's popularity/unpopularity, but John Lynch, who will win another 70% victory in 2010.

I'm expecting Lynch to retire in either 2010 or 2012. Unless he wants to be a King or sometihng but I have never got that vibe from him before.

Why would you expect that? In a normal state (with four-year terms), Lynch wouldn't finish his second term until 2012. He hasn't been governor very long, relatively. He just gets elected a lot.

That was my thought. I new he was elected in 2004 and I just felt that it would be unlikely for him to run for man than 8 years which 2012 will be. So enjoy your last Lynch Landslide in 2010.
