More ignorance!

Why would the country that is basically made up totally of Church leadership not believe in a theory that has been accepted and taught by the Church for a long time?

I take pleasure in seeing that the United States is one of the last countries on the list.

I was about to post that. Vatican City definitely will have a very high rate of supporters of evolution.

Yeah, Phil's right. The Catholic Church is a major FF when it comes to evolution. Catholics in general are. One of the most famous evolution proponents is also an ardent Catholic, though his name escapes me at the moment.

Correct. Rejecting science because it doesn't jive with what you want to believe isn't something to be proud of.

Evolution is not "science", it is just that liberals make that claim so that they can bash Christianity.

Because of course anything you disagree with isn't science. Roll Eyes Better than the  harping on it being a theory that you get out of most fundies, I guess.

Is it called "playing the martyr" when a Christian plays the victim?

God wrote the Bible, so everything in the Bible is "science."

I'm pleased to see France is in the Top 5.

Funny that they didn't poll Canada.

I wouldn't have asked the question if I didn't think that they could have beaten the US.

It's not a question of them beating or being near the U.S.; they'd be near the top of the chart.

Some countries I used to live in that I'm happy to see in the top ten, namely Japan, whose widely Buddhist culture has never had a probem with evolution, and Germany, a country whose government collects taxes on behalf of the Lutheran and Catholic churches and is, therefore, much more a Christian state than we are.  Opposition to the theory of evolution is a quirky American neurosis.  The Genesis creation story is a momotheistic remake of a Babylonian creation myth.  Scientists of course have not worked out all the details, but evolution is not a theory, it's a fact.

I find it somewhat odd that these Uber Christian groups continue to deny evolution, even after it HAS BEEN WITNESSED IN THE LAB! http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14094-bacteria-make-major-evolutionary-shift-in-the-lab.html
