Good luck. If you get in, I'll be curious to see which physics professors you get.

Yeah, I'm hearing from Davis in mid-March & Berkeley in late March. I have no clue when I hear from Stanford. I kind of wish that I had also applied to S.F. State, as a fallback to the fallback, but I might just be nervous since U.C. Davis itself is fairly high-tier.

PiT, why didn't you apply to Caltech?  Assuming you're set on science/math/engineering, it's a great place.  I don't know what your statistics are like, but judging your intelligence from your posts, I don't see how you're at all worried about Davis.

I thought about applying to Caltech (they even asked me to apply there), but I ended up being really busy working over Christmas Break. I didn't even start my application for Stanford until December 27th.

The University of California at Santa Barbara. (UCSB)

I have a good friend who goes there. If you ever meet a Korean kid named Andy Oh, tell him that Santiago says hello.

Um, I hate to break it to you how the UC system works, but there's going to be a hundred Korean kids named Andy that you'll meet in your first eight minutes of school.  It's gonna  be a big shock for you to go from 10 person classes to 800 person classes yo

Thats so true! There are so many Asians here! Its like Hong Kong over here!

He's Korean, not Chinese. Tongue To help you though, he idolizes Kobe Bryant & has an impossibly huge ego.

Yeah, I don't think that's specific enough, you'll meet probably 85 people hitting that description in your first 8 minutes.

You should go to Stanford, it'll be smaller for you Smiley  but seriously

Every Asian I've ever met has a hard on for Kobe Bryant.

The ones I've known have tended to be fans of Yao Ming, actually.

I don't actually talk to people about basketball, though I think I've overheard enough conversations to know the basketball preferences of most people at my school.

That in and of itself is freakish

It's not as if I had a choice. He kept trying to convince us that Kobe Bryant was better than Michael Jordan, which led to many laughs had by everyone.
