This is why I kneejerk react negativly to anything that sounds like "Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act".  There is always bullsh**t in something named in such a way.  They aren't even banning them because they are dangerous (which would still be a stupid reason), they are banning them because they contain lead and you never know when a 3 year old will try to swallow a motorcycle.

The so-called Consumer Protection Act is also requiring books printed before 1985 to be thrown away.

Abolishing government outright starts to look that much better with stupidity like that.

Yeah - W is screwing us, thanks to a knee-jerk bill sponsored by Bobby Rush (D-Illinois), and cosponsored by a who's-who of House Democrats, including Rahm Emanuel and Henry Waxman.   W is screwing us even though the bill overwhelmingly passed the House 407-0 and the Senate 79-13 (with only Republicans voting nay) by veto-proof majorities.  W is screwing us because Congress, who writes bills, overreacted to the Chinese lead paint scare.

W shouldn't have signed the stupid Consumer Product Safety Modernization Act, but he's far from the only one who should be blamed for "screwing us one last time".

Your Bush Derangement Syndrome is showing.

Aye.  You are correct.  It was wrong of me to forget to blame Congress and the jerks that actually wrote the law.
