Why should what North Americans think (and you're appropriating the behavior of the North Americans you know to the entire population)

I've now thought of a great explanation as to why this is:

Book bannings. Think of how insanely unpopular they are now. When Palin was accused of book banning, did she reply "Yes, I did seek to rid our community of those vile promoters of evil!" or try to deny it? In 2006 the DCCC ran an ad against a Republican (can't remember who) accusing him of book banning. He never sought to defend it, just argued it was something out of context he wasn't responsible for. Hell even Field of Dreams, a rather clean, family-friendly movie portrays the book banners as bad!

Staunch opposition to this shows that North Americans on a whole do not adhere to this fascism. Do you think a majority of North Americans want Manhunt 2 or Baise Moi or Spun banned?
