Has anybody heard from Happy? Just checking...

I have also not heard from him.  The only player I've not heard from, actually.

BREAKING: Lunar admits conpiring with all players against all other players...

He admitted that in the pm he sent me a week ago, so it's hardly "breaking" now.

But Happy hasn't posted in this thread either - when's the last time he even posted on this board? He stated he wanted to play in the next game, when exactly? I know it was months ago.

Just hoping there's a backup plan. Smiley

It's a slow news day in Constantinople.

The only Diplomacy related post of Happy Warrior's I can find is the original request he made to play in Game #1 - here.

If he hasn't specifically expressed a wish to partake in this game, then it would seem to me prudent to delay the opening moves for another week and install a new player in his stead.

During the last game, he sent me a PM apologising for not lodging orders and that he'd be enjoy participating in a future game. I PM'd him prior to this game to see if he was still interested and he responded to my PM. I also PM'd him after drawing the nations, but haven't heard back from him since.

Jas's suggestion of defering the opening moves is prudent. I'll PM him again and if I hear from him tonight, I'll adjudicate moves this week. If I don't hear from him, Gustaf was the next in line and can take over from him.

I think whether he is running or the country or Gustaf is is extremely relevant to my moves.

Especially because I've messaged Gustaf about a theory involving my possible opening moves.

Okay - that's important to note. In that case Mikado is next.

I can deal with whomever.  I don't want to pass on the rightful person.  I mean, Gustaf never even responded to my question haha.

Can we wait 24-48 hours before submitting?

Yeah I'm not going to submit my moves until I figure out what's going on.  I'm basically putting a hold on everything until what's going on becomes clear.

I think that's the best course of action at this point.  Smid, maybe you should send out a memo for people not to confirm their moves with whatever alliances etc. that they're in and whatnot until we knows what's ups with the Englands.

Damn you Lunar, damn you to hell! Thwarting me at every opportunity...

Actually, I honestly have no idea what you're talking about there. I just checked my personal messages and I see none from you since the discussion about who would play. I say you're just trying to keep me out to secure the win.

Anyway, Smid, if Happy is gone again and you want me to step in I'm willing. I'm usually more successful when I take over from someone, anyway. Wink

I'm glad we were both thinking of the same thing.

I once watched that movie twice, back to back, with long commercials.

btw will Turkey help me in invading England?

Wow, that is one ugly Llama!  Why does the back third look like a sheep dog and the middle third look like a sheep?

Okay, I haven't heard from HappyWarrior, including to a PM I sent asking him what's going on, so Gustaf, you're taking over from him, if you're up for it. I've corrected the opening post to reflect this change.

If people are comfortable with submitting orders in the next 24 hours, I'm happy to adjudicate then. If you need more time to negotiate with Gustaf, I'll defer for the week. Let me know.

I think it's only fair to give Gustaf a few days of diplomacy time.  But if he wants to lone wolf this shit then that's his dealio

I'm still not going to submit moves until I figure out what's going on Smiley

I sent in my moves.  I think we're ready to move on whenever Gustaf feels he's comfortable.

Well, I don't wanna clog down the game. The first move is only the first move, after all. So, I'm comfortable with moving ahead and I'll negotiate more for the Fall turn.
