Hard to have friends when you've got to balance a budget in a state with very powerful special interests and massive economic problems

I don't think he'll necessarily try to primary Paterson.  Cuomo has gotten in hot water trying to primary someone in his past and it is only recently that he's managed to regain his good standing with the establishment.  He's still young.

If Patterson's numbers continue to be this miserable by the fall, then the Democratic establishment is going to beg Cuomo to enter the race.

Even Al Sharpton will abandon Patterson if he sees that against him, Giuliani is the favorite to become Governor.

Talk about an Epic Fail. Amusingly enough, he is disapproved of by many people because his policies are far too conservative (ex: me and many members of my family).

I spoke with a member of Paterson's staff on Saturday night and he is demoralized. Paterson was not ready to be Governor, and is likely not running in 2010. This is unfortunate, but at least it gives Cuomo a deserved chance.

Uh, wow. Not only is Rudy beating him but he's kicking his ass. Are those numbers really believable though?

I guess it doesn't matter much. Looks like Paterson has almost no way to win the primary.

I seem to recall someone saying something about Paterson's vulnerability six months ago...

Maybe I'll bump up the post of that person later.

I've been out of the state and haven't been following the news there...

Has he royally messed up, or what?  I know he hasn't made many friends, but still...

Has he royally messed up, or what?  I know he hasn't made many friends, but still...

He drew out the Gillibrand pick in the worst way possible, he's had to make tough budget cuts from hospitals and he's had to raise taxes.

Actually, polls were saying back in November, when Patterson was popular, that Giuliani only lagged slightly behind him.

Bingo.  Paterson is taking a drubbing from those disgusting ads by the health care lobby.

I think this is a bit more accurate.
