Iowa of course.

Iowa is the only Bush 2004 state I'd ever be willing to live in. Outside of that the state is sheer awesomeness of scene and strip clubs.

Iowa, hands down.  In the last seven presidential elections (the last 20 years), Iowa gave its electoral votes to the Democratic nominee six times and Florida gave its electoral votes to the Democratic nominee twice.

..and yet they (Iowa) are contemplating passing a bill that will make it "child abuse" if your 14 year old son finds your stack of Playboys.  cite

Alot of states consider stupid legislation. Get back to me if it passed and/or has alot of support.

That being said, Iowa is sort of politically awkward.

Of course.  I just happened to stumble upon it and thought it was funny.  I did vote for Iowa here.

Iowa, using the standard American definition. Why would this really even be debateable?

It must be three months since the last time this was asked. I'm surprised he waited this long.

Better question, is Miami-Dade more liberal than Des Moines?

Ok, how about this. Is the Florida panhandle more conservative than western rural Iowa?

What I'm trying to say is who cares about which state is more liberal or conservative, state lines are artificial and if BRTD really needs to live in a liberal place, he can find one in any state.

The FL panhandle, I think, is definitely more conservative than western rural Iowa, at least in the social sense.

Honestly, I'd say Florida and Iowa are about even, only Republicans have a better establishment in Florida and their conservative areas are just bigger than Iowa's is all.

Minus Oklahoma.

Hell, even Utah has that area of SLC near the U.

I'm the odd bird that's lived in both places (well, I've never lived in W.Iowa, but I live right next door) and can without any doubt say that the Panhandle of FL is more conservative than W.Iowa.  The panhandle is just as red necky as any part of Alabama.  Hell, one of it's many names is Lower Alabama although I prefer Red Neck Riviera.
