Wait, what?
State Senate?

Interestingly, Denley only won 51-49 in 2008. It would be amusing if Bradley lost a third election in a row.

Jed Bradley epic failed in 2006. How many people predicted that Shea-Porter would win?

LOL. Doesn't the NH state senate have a ton of members? What a huge step down.

New Hampshire has an Executive Council? Awesome.

You're thinking of the NH State House (400 members). The State Senate only has 24.

This almost always turns out terribly.  Someone should give Jeb Bradley the phone number of former Rep. Jon Fox.

LOL yeah! Fox's defeat was horrible and actually set up one of this state's brightest rising stars for the Dems.

So, he's running for a demotion?

He might as well be running for city council's janitor as far as things I care about, haha.*

Note that that I had far more original ideas, including but not limited to, prostitution, while considering this post regarding Jeb Bradley

I worked on the Jeanne Shaheen for Senate campaign in New Hampshire and was stationed in Rochester in the 1st District and I can for sure tell you that while I was up there, it looked as though Bradley would have very well won the seat. At the beginning, we were kinda scared that Carol would lose but I think Obama had coattails for her. She's an awesome lady and I was so glad when she won. I'd much rather her run for the Senate seat being vacated by Gregg so that New Hampshire would have two female Democratic senators. It's a great honor that will soon be bestowed upon my state as well Smiley

By the wayyyy this is today. And it's actually pretty important. Turn out is not bad apparently but it's raining pretty heavy last I heard.

Also does anyone know about the Union Leader? It's like the most partisan newspaper in all of New Hampshire. All it's been doing the whole election cycle was praise Bradley (for helping Bush ruin the country amirite) and bash Martin. Sad

I'm excited. This little senate seat is actually more exciting than that ol' NY-20! All the ballots are counted by hand before the results are sent to the Secretary of State btw:

And that David Ross guy sounds misinformed... Democrats already have a significant majority in the senate now.

With 6 of the 17 towns reporting, Bradley leads Martin 1,911 to 1,124 according to the Union Leader. Nothing yet from the biggest towns, Wolfeboro and Conway.

Bradley wins this one. Martin's performance relative to 2008 is terrible.

Bradley remains in the lead 3,173-2,006. Still nothing from Wolfeboro and Conway though.

This is really a crushing loss for Democrats.  Obama won this district in November and Bud Martin came within a point of winning then.  Democrats need to find a way to turn their voters out.

You say crushing loss as if the Democratic Party is now dead in New Hampshire. In a special election in a traditionally Republican district, no one was saying it would be a Democratic landslide, or even a victory.

It is a crushing loss.  Obama won the district and the Democratic candidate came within a point of winning in November.  Democrats really need to have an emergency meeting about these crushing local losses they keep facing.  Oh wait.....I forgot, Democrats dont care about local races, as long as they have the White House then that is all that matters.  Yep, right.
