The first deaths for over a decade.

Condemned by everyone. That's one good sign.

The 'Real IRA' have claimed responsibility.

He's dead.

The Continuity IRA have claimed responsibility for this one.

Clearly the UK needs to invade Poland over this.

A tragedy and my condolences to their families. I sincerely hope that this sort of terrorism/criminal activity does not flare up again.

The UK and Irish Governments need to work very hard, out in the open, to bring those responsible to justice.

Disturbing and deeply concerning.

It seems these attacks were designed to place Sinn Féin in a very difficult political position as much as anything else.

I don't like that, but, at least, they don't target civilians.

Well, actually, they do because the Real IRA are the bastards that did the Omagh bombing a decade ago and the other lot just killed an ordinary policeman responding (or so he thought) to an ordinary crime.

There's also, of course, the matter of the two pizza delivery guys shot at the weekend at Massareene barracks, both seriously wounded.

I didn't know for the two delivery guys. I just thought we could notice that, outside of the fact both attacks were coward, we would be here with more fair guys who strike the forces that represent the authority (what is also the police), and not civilians unlike most of the guy that wanna make terror. But, if you tell me that they did it in the name of an organization that had targeted civilians in the past and that the delivery guys were touched, I revise my judgment.

Quite.

Btw, I've just realised that one of the soldiers killed was younger than I am. Strange.
