I was waitlisted at Gettysburg for regular decision after being deferred from early decision II.

So I was wondering what I could do to distingush myself this time around?

To start my grades are better then they were first semester.

Take a tour of the battlefield and ask the NPS for Gary Kross to be your guide.  Gary is a personal friend of mine and I don't think ANYONE knows more about the battle.  For what it's worth, he is the guide the NPS assigned to Gerald Ford, some foreign potentates, sports and hollywood celebs, etc.

He's not cheap but he's worth it.

Joining clubs at this point is pretty silly. Colleges don't necessarily want to see that you were in a lot of clubs, but rather that you were devoted to them. Joining clubs during the past semester of high school doesn't spell devotion to the admissions department.

I would obviously write them and convey the idea that they are your first choice (if indeed that is true) and send in your grades from this semester. Keep them updated as much as possible. The more interest you show, the more likely they will call you if spots open up. Now is not the time to be silent in this process.

Great advice Duke. Back before electric lights were invented,  I got into Michigan Law School from a wait list after A'cing another quarter in college, and sent the "good news" along.

Does there really need to be a new thread for every update?

I expect the next thread to detail how an admissions boss asked for sexual favours to get you in quickly. Let's spice this up a bit please.

Keep your personal problems in one topic and call it "Kevin's College Woes" or something. There doesn't need to be all these topics.
