What in the hell are these people thinking? That is the dumbest idea I've ever heard in my life. I'm glad I watch all my shows online now, because the SciFi channel is a freaking joke now.

Sci fi jumped the shark after ST:TOS.
I've always had a love/hate relationship with them.  They picked up MST3K many moons ago when Comedy Central dropped it...Awesome!....but then they made them only do "SciFi" movies and forced them to do story lines that the crew didn't want to do (and then failed to release them in order anyway).  Suck!

Why would a recession hurt a TV network? If anything a recession should increase TV viewership.

Anyway, this is quite dumb.

TV viewership alone doesn't equal profit. Companies still have to pay for commercials...and if they're making less money due to the recession, then it's probable that the TV networks will also make less money off of commercials.
