Let's say that Perot doesn't drop out and jump back into the race but he stays through the campaign, because of this he's able to get write in support in the Democratic primaries (this actually did happen as in a number of primaries he got about several points, WA being the better as he gained nearly 20%) now let's say that Perot wins primaries and ignites an huge write in effort and is able to win the Democratic Nomination and becomes one of the first nominee's for an major party that received the nomination through write in ballot. Perot accepts the nomination and says it's "The will of the people.." and is nomination is basically an endorsement of the Independent Perot/Stockdale ticket. So how does this weird election play out against Bush the Republican VS Perot the Independent, nominated Democrat candidate?

Republican:
President George H.W. Bush
Vice President Dan Quayle

Independent/Democratic:
Entrepreneur H. Ross Perot
Admiral James Stockdale

President George HW Bush sails to reelection.

Stockdale would be an absolutely horrible Vice Presidential nominee considering this was not only an Independent ticket but the Democratic ticket as well.  The Democrats would not accept Stockdale as the VP nominee, but this would be what would happen with a Perot/Stockdale ticket.

Perot would be revealed during the campaign to be a wingnut, and would go down to a devastating defeat.

Bush/Quayle                     395
Perot/Stockdale                143
