0, unless you have a stupid tariff system like in Britain where life means about 7 years.

It'll solve the problem of gaol overcrowding.

no, it wouldn't even come close to doing that (assuming 'gaol' means 'jail'.  otherwise I'm lost.)  how many people are executed each year?  several hundred?

if you want to de-crowd the prisons you should support drug policy reform.  but I know you don't and would just rather kill people.


also, all of the people afraid that a rash of convicted murderers will go and murder a guard and escape has no idea what maximum security prisons are like.
