Bayrou, I suppose. Sego is kind of an idiot, the rest of the lefties are nutjobs, and Sarko is cool, but I wouldn't first preference him.

You say that because you don't live in the country he's destroying.

He says that because he would be a liberal Democrat here.

Definitely not. Frenchs have the impression that american left is the same that french right, as Americans have the impression that french right is the same that american left ; but it isn't true. There is certainly a lot of cultural differences between american and french political factions, but Sarko remains at best a blue dog, at worst a liberal republican. Nothing, I say absolutely nothing to do with the progressive side of the Democratic Party.
I remark that I did the political matrix test, getting 7 in economic and 5 in social. So I'm less leftist than you and Lief ; and even I consider Sarkozy, not as a bad politician, but as a dagerous stupid megalomaniac ultraconservative clown.

The only reason you say that Sarkozy is a liberal democrat is that You don't know him at all.

Just voted for the one I had put a paper in the box in 2007, Bayrou.

I agree and disagree for American left and French right. They tend to be more or less the same in economics, it is just that the 1st ones try to put more some left in their economy which is clearly on the right when the second ones try to put more some right in their economy which is clearly on the left. Just for socio-economical issues, for the rest comparisons are today irrelevant.

Flip a coin. That's what I did when I did this series of polls.

In real life, I think it's the older candidate who wins, isn't it ? Bayrou is born in 1951, Nihous in 1967. Bayrou wins ! Cheesy

Yes, if there's a tie in any election, direct or indirect, the older candidate wins. A few General Council Presidents got elected due to that clause last year, IIRC.

Of course, it's actually fairer and more democratic to flip a coin (!)

You're right, but who can control if I really flip a coin or if I invent the result ? That's not a safe method. And anyways, rules are rules !

Damn... Frédéric Nihous... 2 votes...??

Well, not that I would tell you what to do, but I would find it still more interesting by making a difference between French votes, and non-French votes, to see differences between both. For example by proposing:

candidate1 (French voters)
candidate1 (Other voters)

etc...
