I'm going with "a rusty, blah blah" until shown otherwise.

Beautiful state; Providence is quite nice. I don't know why they fell of a cliff, economically. At least, unlike Michiganders, they don't have to travel too far for work.

There are metro areas in other states with the size and economic troubles of Providence that don't draw as much attention because they share their states with more prosperous cities. If it weren't the only city in the state, it wouldn't stand out in the stats so much...

I view Rhode Island as the baby brother of Massachusetts.  They essentially mirror everything their older sibling does.  I'm not really a fan of the blue collar/union backed wing of the Democratic party which to me is the dominant faction in RI and MA.  I may be grossly off-base on my assessment though.  Personally, I'm more affiliated with the green/environmentalist and social libertarian aspects of the Democratic party which seem to be more prevalent in the West.

Freedom State, with the exception of that town that voted for McCain (lolz).

Here's what I think.  If Kim had put a nuclear bomb at the end of that rocket and aimed it towards Rhode Island, I couldn't give a sh**t less.  Actually scratch that.  The fallout might reach me here in New York so I guess I might care a little.

It looks quaint and fun, from what I've seen. I'd like to visit it someday. Smiley It'd be Providence, though. I have an affinity for big cities.
