3 and 4 as well, but I do think it's funny how Gillibrand has to run in 2010 and 2012.  At least New York will get to know her.

It'd be funny if some of the bigshots stagnated their shots against her, but I suspect 2010 is the gauntlet & proving grounds while 2012 will mean about as much as Schumer's own reelection in 2010

I don't see not running in the primary as an option. Burris said today that he hasn't raised any funds yet for 2010 and the primary is in February. Petitions normally start circulating in August. He is being very coy about any plans to announce for next year.

He has yet to raise a cent for his reelection, while one of his opponents has raised more than a million in the last twenty-eight days.

I'm going to guess Burris loses in the primaries, but who knows?
I honestly think, that if Republicans put someone good up for that seat, (Ditka???) we could win it. I mean, I'm just going to take a guess that people in Illinois aren't too crazy about Democrat leadership, with the whole Blago fiasco. Get a Republican who is appealing to Chicago and you would win.

Sorry, for the New York seat, Gillibrand will win. I'm a big fan of her. Would I vote for her in a General Election for President? Maybe...

Ditka is too busy working at the lulzfactory to run for anything.

The Republican Gov prior to Blago was sent to jail as well.  The Illinois GOP is DOA, Ditka won't do anything to save it.  I think Burris doesn't even run in the Primary and Gillibrand gets ousted by Steve Israel in the Primary.

He is not intended to do anything more than serve out a term.

Celebrity alone is not good for winning a Senate seat.
